An Introduction to Hybrid Teaching

Dr. Kar has a PhD in Sociology and has been working in Higher Education for more than 15 years. She has been working with the Teaching Learning Enhancement Cell at Christ University, India since 2015 and has worked extensively on the teaching, learning, and assessment practices across the University. One of the areas that the team is currently working on is the constructive alignment of the curriculum in keeping with the University’s emphasis on holistic development.

After obtaining a PhD in English Language Education from The English and Foreign Languages University in 2015, Dr. Mukherjee joined the Department of English at Christ University, India. As a member of the Teaching Learning Enhancement Cell at CHRIST since 2015, she has worked extensively in the area of teaching, learning and assessment ever since.

Dr. Vinay M manages the university’s learning management system (LMS), serving more than 22,000 students, 850 faculty members, and 5 campuses. He is a passionate teacher, high-quality trainer, and a technology tool specialist. He served as a Microsoft Faculty Fellow in 2013 and received a Nobel Researcher Award in the field of Research and Co-curriculum from RULA International awards in 2018. He is also a Google Certified Trainer and Educator, Google Digital Unlocked Digital Marketing Expert, and Microsoft Certified Innovative Educator.

Dr. Ram holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge. She studies the informal economy from the perspective of economic sociology, political economy, and public policy. She serves as the Principal Investigator of CLARE, an industry-academia collaboration on the informal economy. Her research papers have been published in international journals. As a TED speaker, she delivered a talk on the informal economy titled “Informal or Illegal? Voices from the Fringe!” Recently, she authored the book "The Affordable Housing Market in India," published by Routledge. She has also authored book chapters and is a journal reviewer for leading publications. 

Dr. Vivekananda holds a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of West Georgia (USA) and an MBA from the International Management Institute (India). He has over 16 years of experience in designing studies that help uncover the essential nature of human cognition, emotions, motivations, and behaviors relevant for product design, innovation, and

development. Dr. Ram’s interests are in computational cognitive science, human science methodologies, and technologies for hybrid teaching/ learning. He was the course design director and was instrumental in the development of several MOOC courses across industry and academia in the USA.

Dr. T.P. is an academic with more than a decade of research and teaching experiences in Materials Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Analytical Chemistry. He completed his PhD in Chemistry from Kongju National University in South Korea and Postdoctoral Research at UNIST (South Korea), Ben Gurion University of Negev (Israel), and University of Nebraska Lincoln (USA). He has more than 25 international publications with average impact factor of 4.5.
